Five quiet Phuket beaches worth finding

Phuket is Thailand's largest island, famed for its dramatic limestone cliffs and turquoise Andaman waters. But while Patong and Kata often dominate headlines, the island hides dozens of secluded sandy coves where you can hear only the rhythm of the waves.

1. Ao Sane Beach (Nai Harn Bay)

Tucked just around the rocky headland from Nai Harn, Ao Sane is a tranquil pebble-and-sand cove with giant granite boulders reminiscent of the Seychelles. It is one of the best spots on the island for shallow-water snorkelling with parrotfish and sea turtles.

2. Banana Beach (Near Naithon)

Hidden down a steep shaded jungle trail between Bang Tao and Naithon, Banana Beach offers 180 metres of pristine golden sand bordered by towering casuarina trees and crystal-clear swimming water.

3. Yanui Beach (Windmill Viewpoint)

Nestled between Promthep Cape and the Windmill viewpoint, Yanui is a cozy crescent beach ideal for sea kayaking around Koh Man island or watching the amber sunset with a chilled young coconut.
